Team El Salvador 2013
The team in 2013 was focused on Soccer and Childrens Ministry. This team lead the way for our 2014 team.
Joined in on soccer training
Did ministry through skits and testimonies
Helped develop a college sponsorship program so youth graduating from the soccer school have hopes of gaining a college education.
Team El Salvador 2014
In 2014, we broke out into two teams.
The Soccer/Children's Ministry Team
The Construction Team
Helped construct concrete benches for the church's soccer field, so that the community could be more involved.
Joined efforts with Project Oasis (CFCI community ministry center on the Island). Pouring concrete, electrical work, digging holes. Physical labor and financial resources pushed their project up by 6 months!
Helped the community effort in building a school and community center on a mountain. This school enables Compassion International to begin sponsorship in this impoverished area. The project was excelerated by 4 months and 50% of financial costs were covered!
The Soccer/Children's Ministry Team
In every location, the team shared the message of Christ through skits and testimonies. Soccer is used as a way to bond with the kids, despite language barriers, and get to know them on a common level. Through soccer, many lasting memories are made and the kids in El Salvador remembered our team from 2013 - what a joy!
Soccer clinics were run out of 3 different areas in San Salvador. The team shared testimonies, did biblical skits, and taught the kids soccer skills.
Joined efforts with CFCI soccer coaches at the City Soccer school where we assisted in their soccer training twice a day.
Facilitated a soccer tournament and joined in on the CFCI church soccer game.
Visited some of the families' homes, and gave donations specific to their needs, thereby building stronger relationships with the people of San Salvador.
Toured some of the neighborhoods of the children who attend the soccer school. We were honored to see their community and life as they know it.
Helped feed the homeless
Met CFCI sponsor children
Met with Henry, a youth that came through the soccer school and desired to attend college. Our 2013 Team helped raise money to send him through his first year. Henry has become like a brother to many of our team members! We were excited to spend so much time with him when he was not in class!

Team El Salvador is composed of many churches and individuals joining together to serve one God! In 2013, our team consisted of individuals from six different churches. In 2014, the team consisted of individuals from eight churches in our surrounding community. Team El Salvador 2015 is no different. All are welcome! Our team joins Christ For The City International (CFCI), which is an international mission organization committed to serving others in the name of Christ. They have more than 350 mission workers in sixteen countries. We will be serving at four sites through soccer, children’s ministry, and construction.
If God has put serving internationally on your heart, please don't ignore it. God has created some with the desire to go, and others with the desire to send. Both areas of ministry are equally important to do His work! As the body works together, God ensures financial support is raised to complete the tasks He desires.
Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 12:14-19, "For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, 'Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,' that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, 'Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,' that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as He chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body."
What if I don't play soccer or can't do construction?
There is always something to do, always a child to play with, and always a person to show the love of God. It may be reading books to children, giving piggy back rides, sitting with the moms just for side-to-side companionship, painting nails, or even making bracelets.
1 Corinthians 12: 4-7 states, "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
