Good morning!

Two of the goals of our 10-year church vision are for ABCF to be a vital center of the local community and to have events throughout the year that invite people to “come and see.” Although the Car Show was a bit “stretching” for many of us, it definitely was a start to meeting those goals!

In total, 60 cars participated in the show, which I feel was a tremendous turnout, especially for a first-time event like this. It is hard to judge how many people came to the show because folks were constantly coming and going. The property certainly felt “full” throughout the afternoon. The food tent raised around $1,100, which will be used for some upcoming local missions projects that the youth group will be doing in partnership with Good Neighbors Home Repairs ministry, which is based in southern Chester County. All in all, it was a great day!

There is much to give thanks for in regard to Sunday. Our primary thanks is to our Heavenly Father, who provided a spectacular warm and sunny day for us with just enough of a breeze to make it pleasant outside! A big “thank you” is also extended to everyone who volunteered their time. It took A LOT of people to pull off the day, from the folks parking cars to the folks helping with the food…from the ones running the registration to the ones who set everything up and tore everything down…and everyone in between. And a special “thank you” to Gary and Elizabeth Barrett for running point on everything.

There will be a brief meeting after the worship service on 6/28 for anyone who would like to provide feedback on the car shows.

Here’s what’s happening:

1. June 25 – Youth Group meets at the church at 6:30 pm.

2. June 28 – Youth Fellowship Meal after the worship service.

3. We are on our annual summer break for Sunday School. There is a signup sheet in the lobby to provide a snack before the service during July and August.

4. July 6-10 - There is a signup sheet in the lobby for VBS. This is an “all hands on deck” ministry event. Please consider volunteering.

5. July 12 – Double Nickels luncheon after the worship service.

6. Save the Date: 8/29 – Youth Missions Project with Good Neighbors.

7. Save the Date: 8/30 – Baptism Service at the Hoover Pond in the evening.

This Sunday we have come to the big moment in the life of Jacob’s family – the giving of the blessing to each of his sons. There are few experiences in life that can be more impactful, either positively or negatively, than the final words you hear from a loved one. As we study these final words that Jacob gives to his 12 sons we’ll discover three meaningful truths about God's love and power!

See you on Sunday,

Scott
