Baptism Sunday!

Next Sunday we will be gathering at the Mark and Andrea Hoover farm at 6:30 pm for a baptism service.  The Hoovers’ address is 2391 Glenville Road in Cochranville.  However, the swimming pond where we will have the service is located at the corner of Glenville Road and Watterson Road (see pic below).

There are three areas for people to park that I have circled in red in the picture.  The one right by the pond is a bit unlevel.  The other two are fairly level.  The Hoovers have a golf cart if someone needs some help getting to the pond.

We will be gathering at the end of the pond farthest from the road (yellow circle).  Please bring along lawn chairs.  We will look to begin promptly at 6:30 and the service will last around a half hour to 45 minutes.

I also wanted to pass along that All-Nations Association of Bible Schools is having its fall banquet a bit earlier than in years past.  This year’s banquet will be held on Thursday 9/25 at Shady Maple.  Doors open at 5:30 and the dinner and program begin at 6pm.  If you are interested in attending you can contact the ministry at 717.517.1060 or by emailing them at aabsallnations@yahoo.com.  Reservations are requested by 9/4.

Here’s what’s happening (spoiler alert  - A LOT):

1.  SUNDAY - We will be celebrating the missions trip on 8/17 during the service!

2.  8/20 – Community Pool Party for youth at the SECA Pool in Quarryville.  See Elizabeth Barrett or Amanda Brinton by this Sunday if you would like to attend.

3. 8/22 - We are planning for a youth group campfire/outdoor game night at the church from 7-9:30 pm.   I encourage all of our youth to come out and have some fun as we begin to bless Thomas as he moves on to full-time ministry.

4.  8/23 - The Double Nickels will be serving at Blessings of Hope on Saturday, August 23.

5.  8/24 – Back School Sunday at the Bridge.

6.  9/3 – The Double Nickels will be serving at Blessings of Hope in the morning.  This is open to anyone over the age of 10.  See Gary Barrett if you would like to go.  We are going to look to schedule a “family-friendly” shift in the near future.

6.  9/7 - The annual church Corn Roast is after the service at Lloyd and Mary Lois Kreider’s home.

7.  9/14 – There will be a brief youth parent meeting after the worship service.

8.  We are in need of help in two different ministries, the Nursery (See Amber McMillion) and the Tech Team (see Bruce Fite).

9.  Thank you to everyone who was able to donate some items for Solanco Neighborhood Ministries’ Back-To-School program.  We donated 41 lbs of school supplies!

Most of the disciples preferred to work behind the scenes, but not James.  His passion and zeal for Jesus put him on the "front lines" of ministry...and also got him rebuked by Jesus on several occasions.  Join us on Sunday at 10 am as we look at the life of one of the "Sons of Thunder."
