Good morning,

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Baptism night happen.  What a great evening!  On our way home it started pouring rain just as we passed the church.  God held the rain off just long enough!

I say this every year, but it’s hard to believe that Labor Day is upon us.  It certainly feels like the summer goes by faster than ever.  Labor Day also means that the fall banquet season, when many of our partner ministries hold fundraisers, is almost here.  These banquets/dinners/auctions are vital to their funding and typically involve a nice meal, live music, and some testimonies and ministry updates.

Here is what you need to know:

September 26

Cornerstone Reproductive Health sponsors a 5k walk and cornhole tournament (that’s two separate activities…you aren’t playing cornhole while walking a 5k) from 9 am – noon at New Holland Church of the Nazarene.  Information about the event can be found at their supporters website -  cornerstonesupporters.org

October 1

New Hope Counseling Center is having its annual Drop-In and Silent Auction from 5-8 pm at Providence Church, just north of Quarryville.  This event is a bit different.  Rather than having a program, you are able to come and leave as your schedule allows.  Different local restaurants have stations set up for you to visit and enjoy some of their dishes.

Tickets to this fundraiser are $20 (or $60/family).  You can purchase them by going to newhopeministry.info and clicking on the “Tickets for Taste of New Hope” button.

October 8

ICCM ministries led by Rev. O. M. Panicker is also having its banquet at the Eden Resort in Lancaster at 6 pm. Tickets to this banquet are free.  Our church sponsors a table at this banquet, so if you would like to go see me.

October 17

The Oaks Ministry of Oxford is fundraising breakfast/brunch at Wesley Church from 9 -11:10 am. Tickets are free.  There will be a brief ministry presentation, and a freewill offering will be taken.  Reservations are requested by 10/4.  You can reserve your spot by emailing info@theoaksministry.com.

October 22

Solid Rock Youth Ministries is having its fall banquet at The Barn of Nottingham from 5:30 – 8pm.  Tickets are $45.  Head to www.solidrockquarryville.com/banquet to learn more.

October 24

Onesimus Prison Ministries is having its banquet at the Green Street Grill in Downingtown, starting at 6pm.  Tickets are $40.  Head to onesimusminstries.org for more information (or talk to Pastor Vernon).

November 7

Solanco Neighborhood Ministries is having an “Empty Bowls” fundraiser to support the Food Bank from 4:30-7 pm at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren.  This event is similar to New Hope’s event in that the meal is served at stations manned by local restaurants.  Tickets are $25 which includes dinner, complimentary entry to win a door prize, and a handcrafted ceramic bowl.  There is also a silent auction and a ministry presentation.  Reservations requested by October 1.  More information can be found at solanconeighborhoodministries.org/

November 13 & 14

Lighthouse Youth Center in Oxford is having its annual dinner and auction at the Center.  Friday night is a “preview dinner” from 4-7 pm.  Tickets are $20 and you can RSVP by calling Lighthouse at 610-467-6000. Auction starts on Saturday at 9 am.  No tickets are necessary…just show up!  More information at www.oxfordlighthouse.org.

  2. 9/10 – Youth Group at 6:30 pm at the church.
