Thanks to everyone who helped with the teen choir and the children’s program on Sunday.  It was a great morning!

Shorter Check Ins for the next couple of weeks.  I hope that everyone is about to enjoy the holidays!

Here’s what’s happening:

1.      TOMORROW NIGHT - Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 pm.  This is our most “traditional” service of the year.  We’ll read through the Christmas story, sing those favorite Christmas Carols, and light our candles as we sing “Silent Night”.  Snacks for everyone after the service in the fellowship hall.  We do not have junior worship or a nursery for this service, but we are bringing back “Pastor Scott Bingo” for the kids!  The Christmas Eve service has become one of our most attended services of the year…plan to arrive early!

2.     We are taking our holiday break from Sunday School on December 28 and January 4.

3.     I will be giving some church updates during the SS hour on January 11.  Only the children’s Sunday School class will meet that morning.  I will be giving updates on work the elders have been doing on the church By-Laws, the building project, and some other items.  After the worship service we will be holding a vote of affirmation for the 2026 Church Budget.  Budgets are available in the lobby.

4.     We are in need of more help at the tech booth on Sunday mornings.  No experience necessary…see Bruce Fite if you are interested.

5.     January Save the Dates –         January 8 – Youth Group and Ladies Quilt Knotting

January 11 – Double Nickels Luncheon

January 22 – Youth Group and Ladies Quilt Knotting

Tomorrow night we will be taking a brief (well, brief for me) look at Mary, our 3rd Wise Woman.  The most remarkable thing about Mary may well be how unremarkable her life was...until she was visited by the angel Gabriel!

On Sunday our old friend Kendall Keeler will be joining us and bringing the message.  He’ll be looking at the four Gospels, how they are different, and why we need them!  Kendall will also be giving an missions update on his work with ServeNow.

Have a wonderful week!

Scott

How long was Joseph in prison?

On Sunday we looked at Joseph’s incident with Potiphar’s wife and how it led to Joseph being put in prison. As is often the case, the Bible compresses the timeline of Joseph’s life during this time.
