Good morning,

Thank you to everyone who provided food for the fellowship meal on Sunday and a big thank you to the kitchen committee for all of their hard work!

You may be wondering how in the world I am going to finish up the sermon series on Acts with the Advent season upon us.  It is going to be easy…I am planning to preach for 10 hours on Sunday.  Pack a lunch!

On Sunday we will wrap up this portion of the series as our thoughts start to turn to Christmas.  I am planning to pick it back up next fall.

I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving and I wish all of our hunters a safe and successful opening weekend.

Here’s what’s happening:

1.      SUNDAY – We are collecting cans of pasta (like Chef-Boy-R-Dee), cans of soup, and canned meat (Spam, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, etc..).  Couple of things to keep in mind - pop top or microwavable containers are the best so the kids don't have to use a can opener.  The goal is for the kids to be able to have some meat with their pasta or in their soup.  Please watch dates...the ministry can't give out expired or soon-to-be expired food.  Donations need to be at the church by next Sunday, 12/7.

2.     We are in need of a children’s Sunday School teacher starting in 2026.  Please see me if you would be willing to help or would like more information.

3.     December Dates:

12/11 – Youth Group and Ladies Quilt Knotting

12/13 – Youth Group Christmas Party

12/14 – Double Nickels Luncheon

12/19 – ABCF Christmas Caroling

12/21 – Children’s Christmas Program

12/24 – Christmas Eve Service

12/30 – Blessings of Hope

4.     We are taking our holiday break from Sunday School on December 21, 28, and January 4.

We are entering a time of the year when people are more open than normal to having conversations about Jesus.  Although we know we are called to be witnesses, let’s face it, witnessing can be really scary.  On Sunday we will look at Philip witnessing to the Ethiopian man and look at what we can learn from this important conversation! What fears does Philip overcome?  I am looking forward to our time together!
