Good morning…a number of “Church Business” updates this week as we start the new year.

1.      On Sunday I will giving a Congregational Update during the Sunday School hour.  I will be discussing some proposed changes to the church By Laws, giving some financial updates, and talking about some goals for 2026.  Copies of the proposed changes to the By Laws will be available in the lobby before and after the services.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.  There will be a Sunday School class for the children only….youth and adults are meeting in the sanctuary.

2.     After the worship service we will be holding our annual Congregational Vote of Affirmation for the church budget.  Budgets have been available in the lobby for the past few weeks.

There is one small correction for the budget involving Line Item #207.  Last year we increased the Janitor position’s salary during the year to account for the cleaning of the schoolhouse, which is now heavily used.  The correct amount for 2026 for the Janitor position is $6,300, which is $200 more than what is listed in the budget.

Corrected budgets will be in the lobby on Sunday.

3.     It’s hard to believe, but we are now two years into our ABCF 2034 Vision!  Enclosed in this email is a pdf of our Vision document that includes updates (in Italics) of what we have done over the past couple of years to get to where we want to be.  I was so encouraged as I reviewed our Vision by what the folks of the Bridge have accomplished in the past couple of years.  We’ve worked together, we’ve worked hard, and God has blessed our efforts!

Here’s what’s happening:

1.      TONIGHT – Youth Group meets at 6:30 pm in the school house.

2.     TONIGHT – Ladies Quilt Knotting meets at 6:30 pm in the church lobby.

3.     SUNDAY – Double Nickels Luncheon.

4.     We are in need of more help at the tech booth on Sunday mornings.  No experience necessary…see Bruce Fite if you are interested.

5.     The youth retreat at Black Rock is coming up quickly (February 20-22).  Parents, check in with the youth leaders for details.

6.     A Marriage Weekend is coming up March 20-22.  See Elizabeth Barrett or Vernon Myers for details.

This week we start a new sermon series.  For the next few months we will be journeying through the Gospel of John.  This week we will be John 2 and will be looking at Jesus famously turning water into wine.  John tells us that this miracle was a "sign."  We'll look at what John meant by that and the truth that Jesus always offers us the very best.

Blessings,

Scott

Good morning, On Sunday we are going to look at John 7 and Jesus’ eventful trip to Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles.  Something that I won’t have time to do a deep dive on is the interaction bet

Good morning, On Sunday I gave a number of congregational updates during the Sunday School hour.  Unfortunately, our system “glitched” during it and we don’t have a recording of it.  I will have copie
